Overview

Our consulting client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Technical Scrum Master to lead a high-profile enterprise data transformation program. The project involves migrating from a legacy reporting platform to a modern Databricks-based ecosystem with advanced analytics and GenAI capabilities.

This is a highly visible initiative with significant leadership and partner-level engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving delivery, managing stakeholders, coordinating cross-functional teams, and providing enough technical understanding to effectively challenge assumptions, remove delivery obstacles, and guide discussions with architects, engineers, and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead and manage an ongoing enterprise-scale data transformation program.

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.

• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

• Facilitate project governance, status reporting, and executive updates.

• Identify and proactively resolve project risks, issues, and roadblocks.

Agile Delivery & Scrum Management

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

• Coach teams on Agile best practices and continuous improvement.

• Track sprint progress, velocity, and delivery metrics.

• Work closely with Product Owners and technical teams to prioritize work effectively.

Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with senior leadership, partners, project sponsors, and business stakeholders.

• Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and key milestones clearly and effectively.

• Coordinate across multiple teams and workstreams to ensure alignment and successful execution.

• Act as the primary escalation point for delivery-related concerns.

Technical Coordination

• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Architecture, Analytics, and Business teams.

• Demonstrate strong understanding of modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and data transformation initiatives.

• Facilitate technical discussions and understand dependencies across platforms and systems.

• Support decision-making related to migration strategy, delivery planning, and implementation execution.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of Project Management and/or Scrum Master experience.

• Proven experience leading large-scale technology transformation programs.

• Knowledge of Databricks platform and modern cloud-based data architectures.

• Strong experience managing Agile delivery teams.

• Demonstrated success working with senior executives and partner-level stakeholders.

• Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams in fast-paced environments.

• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.

• Strong risk, issue, dependency, and change management experience.

Preferred Technical Experience

• Experience delivering Data & Analytics projects.

• Understanding of data migration and reporting transformation initiatives.

• Familiarity with AI/GenAI-enabled analytics solutions.

• Experience working closely with Data Engineers, Solution Architects, and Data Analysts.

• Knowledge of Azure Data Platform technologies is considered an asset.
