Software Developer (.NET / SharePoint) (PL828)

Overview
We are seeking a Software Developer (.NET / SharePoint) for a consulting client. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining production stability, transforming Tier 2 incidents and change requests into reliable fixes and high-quality releases.

You will work across a mixed application landscape, including custom .NET and SharePoint solutions as well as vendor-supported SaaS platforms, collaborating closely with Business Analysts, QA, and support teams to deliver consistent and predictable outcomes.

This role operates within a production support and enhancement model, with a strong focus on incident resolution, system stability, and continuous improvement. Experience using AI-assisted development tools, specifically GitHub Copilot, is a required component of this role to drive efficiency and code quality.

Key Responsibilities
• Own Tier 2 fixes end-to-end: investigate issues, reproduce defects in lower environments, implement solutions, and support validation through release.
• Develop production-ready solutions by applying secure SDLC practices, writing clean, maintainable code, and making sound architectural decisions.
• Support release and maintenance activities, including patches, enhancements, and post-deployment validation; respond quickly to rollback or mitigation needs.
• Build and maintain integrations and interfaces (APIs and supporting components) across systems within the application ecosystem.
• Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint solutions (Online and/or on-premises) to support business processes.
• Collaborate closely with BA and QA teams to clarify requirements, refine acceptance criteria, and resolve defects during testing cycles.
• Operationalize delivered solutions by updating documentation, improving monitoring/logging, and reducing repeat incidents through proactive enhancements.
• Utilize ITSM tools to track, update, and resolve incidents and change requests.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in .NET development across build, deployment, and support.
• Strong foundation in object-oriented design principles and ability to work with technical design documentation.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience with SharePoint development and maintenance is preferred.
• Proven hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot.
• Comfortable working across custom applications and vendor-supported SaaS environments, with an integration-focused mindset.
• Exposure to ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) is an asset; the role primarily involves ticket handling, and training will be provided.
• Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), GitHub Enterprise, and related development tools is required. Exposure to Power BI is an asset.

• Exposure to emerging AI development paradigms such as agentic development is a plus
