Job requirements

QA Analyst / Software Tester (Tier 2 Support – Release & Defect Validation) (PL827)

Overview

We are seeking a QA Analyst / Software Tester for a consulting client. In this role, you will act as the quality gate for Tier 2 fixes, ensuring production stability, ensuring that fast-moving fixes and releases are thoroughly validated before deployment.

You will play a critical role in preventing repeat incidents, reducing rework, and ensuring smooth releases across a portfolio of vendor-supported SaaS solutions and custom .NET / Microsoft SharePoint applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Tier 2 validation: Reproduce reported issues, validate fixes, confirm acceptance criteria, and document clear test evidence.

  • Perform regression and impact testing to ensure fixes do not affect dependent workflows or systems.

  • Support release validation by executing regression and smoke testing for patches, configuration changes, and maintenance releases.

  • Manage defects end-to-end: log, track, retest, and communicate status and risks using tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or TestRail.

  • Build and maintain lean, reusable regression test packs and incident-based test scenarios to improve QA efficiency and consistency.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of QA/testing experience in enterprise environments (production/operational support experience preferred).

  • Strong expertise in manual testing for defect validation and release cycles, including targeted retesting and regression.

  • Experience working with .NET and/or Microsoft SharePoint applications.

  • Familiarity with vendor-supported SaaS applications, including validation of vendor fixes and coordination with support teams.

  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, TestRail).

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve productivity in test design, defect analysis, and validation activities is an asset.

  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to provide clear, stakeholder-ready reporting (test evidence, risks, release readiness).

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) is an asset. The role involves working with tickets for defect validation, and training will be provided.

  • Exposure to tools such as Power BI, GitHub Enterprise, and GitHub Copilot.

  • Experience working in structured release and support environments.
