Our client, a leading Canadian banking institution, is seeking a Technical Lead, Agentic AI Platforms to help shape and scale the next generation of AI-enabled solutions across the enterprise.

This role will lead the technical direction of agentic AI initiatives, with a primary focus on solutions built on AWS and/or Azure. Working closely with business, technology, operations, and delivery teams, the successful candidate will drive architecture decisions, establish technical standards, and ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable, and production-ready.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone with strong expertise in cloud architecture, AI-enabled system design, enterprise integration, and technical delivery. The ideal candidate will be comfortable translating business challenges into practical technical solutions while guiding teams through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of agentic AI solutions, including orchestration patterns, reasoning workflows, tool integrations, and human-in-the-loop controls.

  • Define architecture standards and engineering best practices for AI-enabled applications built on AWS and/or Azure.

  • Guide cloud-native solution design, including security, identity management, integrations, data access, and deployment practices.

  • Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and implementation partners throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with business, product, technology, and operations stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI use cases.

  • Establish governance frameworks, technical guardrails, monitoring standards, and operational best practices for AI workloads.

  • Support the development of scalable, resilient, and reusable AI platforms and solutions.

  • Act as a trusted advisor on the practical application of agentic AI within a regulated enterprise environment.

Job requirements

  • Significant experience in a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Engineering Leadership role within large enterprise environments.

  • Strong experience designing, building, and deploying solutions on AWS and/or Azure.

  • Hands-on experience with AI, GenAI, Agentic AI, intelligent automation, or related technologies.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, APIs, integrations, authentication, security, and cloud-native design principles.

  • Experience leading technical teams and driving successful delivery across complex initiatives.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and technical judgment.

  • Ability to quickly learn new business domains and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Exposure to lending, servicing, workflow management, or operational process environments.

  • Experience with workflow orchestration, automation platforms, or AI-enabled operational solutions.

  • Experience establishing architecture standards, governance frameworks, and engineering best practices.

  • Familiarity with observability, incident management, production support, and platform operations.

  • Experience working with external vendors, implementation partners, and cross-functional enterprise teams.
