Job description
Our client, a leading financial services institution, is seeking a Data Modeler / Analyst with 5–7 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise data models. The successful candidate will work closely with Wealth Management teams to structure, model, and optimize financial data for reporting, analytics, and compliance. This role requires a strong technical foundation in data modeling along with the ability to translate complex business needs into efficient, scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with Wealth Management requirements.
Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to define data standards and best practices.
Develop and maintain metadata repositories, business glossaries, and data dictionaries.
Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and compliance across platforms and systems.
Translate Wealth Management and regulatory requirements into scalable technical data structures.
Partner with BI and analytics teams to deliver models that support advanced financial reporting and insights.
Conduct impact analysis for changes in source systems and downstream applications.
Provide documentation, data lineage, and model updates to support business and audit needs.
Job requirements
5–7 years of hands-on experience in data modeling and analysis.
Strong expertise in ER modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
Proficiency in SQL and working with enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or equivalent).
Experience with Wealth Management or Financial Services datasets (preferred).
Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and Master Data Management (MDM) concepts.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements in banking/wealth management.
Experience working in Agile / PI planning environments.
Location: GTA (hybrid 2 days per week) Duration: 6 months
